With only three months to go until the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, the race is well and truly on for a spot in Padraig Harrington’s European Team. One of the players currently in the driving seat is Frenchman Victor Perez, who has enjoyed a string of strong performances on Tour since the race to qualify began with a win at the 2019 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and top-five finishes at both the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and Saudi International counting towards his qualification points tally.
We recently caught up with the 28 year old, when he visited his coach Peter Cowen at his Academy in Rotheram, to check out the clubs he’s using as he bids to make his Ryder Cup debut.

Caddy: JP Fitzgerald
Having previously caddied for Rory for eight years, JP took a two year break when the pair amicably split in 2017. JP returned to work with Matthew Wolff for a short spell before settling with Perez in 2019, just before the Frenchman went on to secure his first win on the European Tour at the Alfred Dunhill Championship later that year. It was a huge boost Victor’s word ranking points and a ticket to play events on the PGA TOUR.
