As the highly anticipated TaylorMade Qi35 hits the shelves at EGolf Megastore and other leading retail outlets across the UAE, you might be wondering whether this great-looking driver will deliver more bang for your buck than its predecessor, the Qi10.
However, while tuning in to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to catch Rory McIlroy and the returning Scottie Scheffler in action, we couldn’t help but notice both players were still gaming the Qi10.

Qi35 Still To Be Seen
Considering this time last year, Rory had already switched from the 2023 Stealth2 and won the Hero Dubai Desert Classic with the Qi10, why hasn’t he moved to the Qi35? The same applies to World No.1, Scottie Scheffler, who is teeing up for the first time this year with the 2024 Qi10.
We think the latest offering from TaylorMade is one of the best-looking drivers on the market at the moment, but is there a reason why their two prominent staff players haven’t made the switch to the Qi35?
Still Testing With Major In Mind?
Maybe they are still testing, or perhaps they have found that there is no performance gain at their level. The true test of success will be when the TaylorMade Qi35 starts securing Tour victories or, even better, Major wins in 2025.
As we sign off the opening month of the year, the winners to date on both the PGA and DP World Tour have seen the following drivers lead the way:

DP World Tour
- Hero Dubai Desert Classic – Tyrrell Hatton – PING G430LST
- Ras Al Khaimah Championship – Alejandro Del Rey – Titleist TSi3
PGA Tour
- The Sentry – Hideki Matsuyama – Srixon Srixon ZX5 MK II LS
- The Sony Open in Hawaii – Nick Taylor – Titleist TSi3
- The American Express – Sepp Straka – Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond
- Farmers Insurance Open – Harris English – PING G430LST
Conclusion
It’s early days and it appears the latest drivers from the leading brands have made a slow start. Like the TaylorMade Qi35 it will interesting to see how many victories the PING G440 lands this season, as that award winning G430 is a hard act to follow. We are also hearing from the Tour guys on the range, the latest Callaway Elyte appears more forgiving across the face than the Paradym. As the season starts to hot up which brand will dominate and will all the winners have the latest models in the bag?
