Dustin Johnson’s long-standing association with TaylorMade has officially come to an end, bringing the curtain down on a 17-year partnership between the two-time major champion and the equipment giant.

The split comes in the wake of Johnson’s season-opening appearance at LIV Golf’s event in Riyadh, where he was spotted using a TaylorMade Qi135 driver but notably without the brand’s logo on his visor—replaced instead by the emblem of his 4Aces LIV franchise.
A spokesperson for TaylorMade confirmed with bunkered.co.uk that Johnson’s contract with the company expired at the end of 2024, and Worldwide Golf understands that the former World No.1 is currently a free agent in the equipment market.
With TaylorMade From The Start
Johnson, who turned professional after representing the USA at the 2007 Walker Cup at Royal County Down, has been a TaylorMade staffer since the very start of his career. He claimed his first PGA Tour title at the 2008 Turning Stone Resort Championship and went on to win in all but one of his 16 seasons on the US circuit before making the switch to LIV Golf in 2022.

Major Loss
During his time on the PGA Tour, more than a third of his finishes resulted in top-10s, cementing his status as one of the most consistent performers of his era. Johnson extended his deal with TaylorMade in both 2016 and 2021, but his name and image have now been removed from the brand’s official ‘Team TaylorMade’ roster.
With no official word yet on his next equipment deal, it remains to be seen whether Johnson will align himself with a new brand or continue as a free agent in 2025.
