TaylorMade M5 & M6 – Engineered to make everybody faster

TaylorMade’s new M5 and M6 drivers are so fast they’re close to being illegal. They were produced with an intricate manufacturing process where resin was injected into two tiny holes in the club face to make  the driver go right up to the legal limit for groundbreaking clubhead speed and distance. The fairway woods are all about speed as well. We headed down to The Address Montgomerie to speak to customers who were trying out the M5 and M6 range and found out a little more about what these slick additions to the TaylorMade range have to offer.

Speed Injected Twist Face

First, TaylorMade twisted the face, but now, they’ve injected it. Speed Injected Twist Face features a revolutionary new process of calibrating every individual head to the threshold of the legal speed limit allowed by the USGA and R&A. This really pushes the boundaries as it’s engineered to get the most out of your clubhead speed.

Longer and straighter with Twist Face

Twist Face features a revolutionary face curvature that has been engineered to reduce sidespin and deliver straighter shots on off-centre strikes.

Differences between M5 and M6?

The M5 is TaylorMade’s most adjustable driver ever. It has an inverse T-Track that includes two moveable weights to increase forgiveness and dial in your optimal launch conditions and spin characteristics. Whereas the M6 has a more aerodynamic and sleeker sole, to increase MOI and lower Centre of Gravity. Some professionals on Tour like Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods use the M5 whilst Jason Day and Dustin Johnson opt for the M6, so really it’s just a matter of opinion.

M5 / M6 Fairway WOODS

Introducing Twist Face Technology into Fairways Clubs for the first time

The Twist Face technology in M5 and M6 is designed to make your mis-hits great and your great shots extraordinary and they will go longer and straighter than ever before.

Differences between M5 and M6?

The M5 is made from titanium and has an old-school sound and look, whereas the M6 is made out of steel. The M5 has a moveable weight whereas the M6 has a sleek aerodynamic sole design. Also, you can adjust the loft on the M5 but can’t with the M6.

“What TaylorMade has done with Injected Twist Face is allow us to have a hotter face that feels more stable. The fact that it’s at the threshold of the legal limit and that’s as fast as you’re going to get… You’ll have the confidence to blow it by your competition.” – Tiger Woods

Greg Donaghy

“Both the M5 and M6 have a great look from address, the matte carbon fibre crown looks class. On well struck shots the feel and sound is superb, nothing high pitched or tinny, just a nice thwack! Compared to my usual driver both seemed to carry a little further and the twist face tech really seemed to work on those shots that were hit slightly off centre.”

Patrick O’Donoghue

“I had last year’s M3 but felt the M6 driver gave me a bit more consistency and distance, the HZRDUS Smoke shaft really performed well in keeping my spin down and also increasing club speed. The M5 3 wood went like a rocket, I love that they’ve gone to a titanium head, such a solid feel and big increase in ball speed.”

Mark Carson

“I love the feel, grip and weight of the new TaylorMade drivers. I have a Nike driver at the moment that’s three or four years old and can notice such a huge difference compared to these drivers that felt pure. It seems easier to hit the sweet spot with these drivers compared to my club, so I am a big fan.”
