The par 3 7th hole on the Majlis course at Emirates Golf Club is not as easy as it first appears.
This green is deceptively inviting with it being fairly wide, unlike most greens on the course which tend to require a more accurate approach.
The key to this hole is distance control. Play short and you will face the small false front sloping towards the water. Play long and you will be flirting with the bunkers at the back. The ideal position for this shot is to play for the middle of the green and leave yourself a 15-20 foot putt for birdie.
The wind plays a factor on this hole just like we saw at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic recently where it played into the prevailing breeze throughout the four days. A lot of the players came up short not anticipating the strength of the wind as the tee box tends to be fairly sheltered – make sure you don’t make the same mistake!
