Tyrrell Hatton has branded the FedExCup points breakdown as “pretty harsh” following his impressive T-4 finish at the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Hatton, who won the 2020 tournament at Bay Hill, claimed 113.75 FedExCup points for his performance this year.
The Englishman has now moved to 69th in the standings with the top 70 players at the end of the season qualifying for the play-offs in August.
“I’ll take confidence from having another good week here,” said Hatton after his final round on Sunday.
“It’s just so disappointing after I’ve worked so hard today and I come off the golf course and I see that I’ve only earned 110 FedExCup points, which I don’t think moves us up very high.
“But unfortunately that’s kind of, the breakdown seems pretty harsh in that sense. I guess that’s another thing there to be fairly disappointed about.”
Hatton moved from 26th to 24th in the Official World Golf Rankings following his performance at Bay Hill.
The 31-year-old is next set to tee it up at TPC Sawgrass for this week’s PLAYERS Championship on March 9-12.
