Brooks Koepka falls outside OWGR top 100 for the first time in nearly 10 years

Brooks Koepka has fallen outside the top 100 players in the world for the first time in nearly 10 years.

The four-time Major Champion was World No. 1 as recently as February 2020, but his decision to leave the PGA Tour has damaged his ranking.

The American now plays on the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league which is well-documented to not offer any Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points.

Koepka currently sits in 102nd position – the first time he’s been outside the top 100 of the OWGR since the 2013 KLM Open.

To be exact, that’s over 3480 days since the 32-year-old was last in the position he finds himself in now.

The two-time U.S. Open Champion played in the February’s Saudi International as well as the International Series Oman, two Asian Tour events which offered world rankings points.

However, T46 in Saudi as well as missing the cut in Oman meant the American couldn’t better his position in the OWGR list.

But as a recent winner of both PGA Championship and U.S. Open within the last five years, Koepka has another chance for some much-need points at the upcoming Masters next month.

It will be the eighth time he will tee it up at Augusta with his best finish coming in 2019 when he finished in a tie for second.
