Jackson Bell got his first win of the 2024/25 Emirates PGA season after an eagle at the last saw him triumph at the latest Lincoln DG Pro-Am at Yas Links.
The Tommy Fleetwood Academy pro carded an impressive four under par 68 at the Kyle Phillips-designed masterpiece to pip Jules Lompech to victory by one stroke in Abu Dhabi.
Bell’s triumph in his first start of the season comes just months after he underwent a third operation on his hand.
“Delighted to win in my first event back of the new season,” said Bell on Instagram.
“-4 with a 35 foot eagle putt down the last to win. Love playing here at Yas Links 💙.
“Golfs a funny game….new hand, let’s go.”
This season is the first year the Emirates PGA has fallen under the Emirates Golf Federation’s (EGF) management,
The 2024/25 schedule set to offer the 150 PGA-qualified pros across the UAE the opportunity to compete at a high level in both strokeplay and matchplay events.
The calendar will also provide opportunities for professionals to earn spots in Challenge Tour events in the UAE, through the EGF’s partnership with the European Tour group.
Last season, Tom Ogilvie, a PGA Professional at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, made his Challenge Tour debut after triumphing in the Emirates PGA Play-Offs, earning him an invitation to the seventh event on the Road to Mallorca schedule.
“We have an extensive calendar of events with a mix of Pro-Ams and Emirates PGA Matches, the latter involving the pros playing in 18-hole Individual Strokeplay events,” said Kieren Pratt, Emirates PGA representative for the EGF.
“We especially thank all our sponsors and participating clubs for their continued support.
“We are exploring all sponsorship and participation opportunities for this season.
“This year is important for both the Emirates PGA and EGF as we fully bring it under the EGF’s overarching management.”
Next up on the calendar is the Lindon DG Pro-Am at Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth course.
