Golfing action returns in style this week as Morocco and the Moroccan Golf Federation prepare to host a thrilling double-header—the Trophée Hassan II on the PGA Champions Tour and the 28th Lalla Meryem Cup on the Ladies European Tour (LET)—from Thursday, 6th to Saturday, 8th February 2025.
This marks the first tournament of the 2025 LET season, with the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam’s Blue Coursewelcoming a world-class field to compete for a €450,000 prize fund. Among the star names teeing it up is Moroccan trailblazer Maha Haddioui, a regular on the LET and a familiar face in Dubai’s golfing circles.
The LET’s 2025 season promises to be a blockbuster, spanning 30 events across five continents and boasting a record-breaking €39 million prize fund. The season opener in Morocco has drawn a stacked 108-player field, including two former Order of Merit winners—2024 champion Chiara Tamburlini (Switzerland) and 2023 winner Trichat Cheenglab (Thailand)—alongside 11 tournament invitees.

Big Names, Rising Stars & Homegrown Talent
Among the headline invitees is Mexican star and LPGA player Maria Fassi, who finished T3 in 2024, as well as Portuguese amateur Ines Belchior. The international flavor is undeniable, with players from 34 different nationalitiesset to compete. Morocco will be well represented on home soil by five players:
- Ines Laklalech – Morocco’s first LPGA Tour card holder and flag-bearer at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
- Maha Haddioui – The nation’s most experienced LET pro
- Lina Belmati
- Malak Bouraeda
- Sofia Cherif Essakali – At just 15 years old, the youngest competitor in the field
Joining the fray are 20 LET rookies, including Ecuador’s Daniela Darquea, who won Lalla Aicha Q-School by a single stroke in December, and Canada’s 16-year-old sensation Anna Huang, who racked up five Top-10 finishes last season.
Defending champion Bronte Law (England) returns to protect her crown, while past winners Klara Davidson Spilkova (2017) and Nuria Iturrioz (2016, 2019) are also back in the mix. In total, 32 proven tour winners, with a combined 57 career LET titles, will be vying for early-season glory.

Adding to the excitement, the Trophée Hassan II will run alongside the LET event, with $2.5 million up for grabs on the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam’s Red Course. This prestigious stop on the PGA Champions Tour 2025 season will see golfing greats such as:
