Wyndham Clark lifted the US Open trophy on Sunday having held off Rory’s power hitting but to win in this modern game, you have to fight fire with fire. I was fortunate to play 18 holes with Clark during a PXG media day at Scottsdale National in 2018 and he was a good 30 yards longer than the other Tour pros on the day. So, it didn’t surprise me to see him edge Rory at Los Angeles Country Club in regards to driving distance.
What did catch my eye was the 18 year-old South Afrcian amateur, Aldrich Potgieter , who demolished them all off the tee. He averaged more than 10 yards past Bryson DeChambeau and 20 past Dustin Johnson. Imagine where he will be in another couple of years!
