WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Preview: 5 reasons a Tiger Woods victory appears inevitable

There’s a huge reason to believe that Tiger Woods will lift the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational title this weekend. Here’s why:

1. The last victory Tiger had was at Firestone Country Club

The last of tiger’s 90 victories came at firestone five years ago in miraculous style as he won by seven strokes and shot a stunning 61 in the second round which is the course record.

2. It is the tournament he has won the most times

Tiger Woods lifted the WGC Bridgestone Invitational eight times from 1999-2013 including its first three years (1999-2001).

3. Tiger Woods destroyed this event in 2007

Eleven years ago Tiger won by eight strokes over Justin Rose and Rory Sabbatini to win $1,350,000.

4. It’s the final time it will be held at Firestone

Surely it’s written in the stars that TW wins the first and last WGC tournament held at this venue?

5. The man’s on fire

Tiger proved that he can mix it with the big boys again in the Open which is incredible to see and was proven when he was the final round leader for a brief spell. He’s finished in the top-six in his last two starts and is showing the type of ruthless form, especially with the putter, that reminds you of his peak.
