The ‘Swing Against Cancer’ Golf Series reaches its climax this week, on October 26 at Jumeirah Golf Estates, and there’s still a chance to play during the day or dine at the gala event with celebrity guests. Legendary football player and manager Harry Redknapp, England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall, winner of the 2005 US Open, Michael Campbell, and now, singer-songwriter and former Westlife star Brian McFadden will all be attending.

They will put their skills to the test before appearing for a fantastic evening of food, drinks and entertainment, including dinner and Q&A with the stars, a prize raffle, prize auction, live DJ, and much more!

Campbell, one of the European Tour’s best-loved players said: “One of my philosophies in life is, ‘we are born with two hands, one to receive and one to give back’, something that my grandmother taught me when I was young. So, when an opportunity like this comes along it’s nice that in some shape or form I can make a difference.”

The Swing Against Cancer Charity Golf Series 2017, launched by Sixteen10 and Worldwide Golf, follows on from the success of the Mike Clark Charity Golf Day, which over four years has raised more than US$125,000 for the Friends of Cancer Patients charity (FoCP), and over $50,000 in 2016 alone. Clark, a former UAE resident, golfing enthusiast, and Jumeirah Golf Estates employee, tragically passed away from cancer aged 30 on October 16, 2012 – hence the name Sixteen10. In commemoration of Clark’s untimely passing five years ago.

The celebrities will be offering further entertainment long into the evening. The drinks reception will begin shortly after play ends, followed by a sumptuous gala dinner, and a Q&A session with Harry Redknapp, Mike Tindall, Brian McFadden, and Michael Campbell, while the raffle will see some amazing prizes awarded.

Friends of Cancer Patients

The event will raise funds for the Friends of Cancer Patients charity, a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping cancer patients and their families through the ordeal of coping with the disease and helping to fund treatment. Proceeds from the Swing Against Cancer Series will go directly towards the treatments of two patients in the UAE.

Individual entry for the evening event is only AED 395, and a table of 10 just AED 3,500. All day golf and dinner spots can be booked for AED 1,250.
