Rory McIlroy is hoping to match Ernie Els’ record of three victories at this week’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic. The Northern Irishman has been victorious two times at the Desert Swing’s concluding tournament.

Dubai has held a special place in McIlroy’s heart since he recorded his inaugural European Tour title at Emirates Golf Club in 2009. In 2015 he did the double in Dubai, winning both the Desert Classic and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship which helped the Nike-sponsored athlete finish at the top of The Race To Dubai for the second year in succession.

Worldwide Golf’s Rick Bevan caught up with the 26 year old at the BOSE store – Dubai Mall.
