Biden and Trump’s Golf Handicaps Take Centre Stage

Did anyone expect that following last night’s presidential debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the hottest topic would be golf handicaps?

It certainly wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card. Yet, after the two senior statesmen delivered an almost unwatchable performance on CNN, this unexpected topic has provided a welcome distraction from the nation’s prevailing sense of despair.

Golf Handicaps!

During the debate, the candidates surprisingly veered into a discussion about golf handicaps. Biden asserted that he had managed to reduce his handicap to a 6 during his tenure as vice president. He further challenged Trump to a game of golf, stipulating that the former president should carry his bag for all 18 holes rather than riding in a cart.

This peculiar exchange prompted many to look up the golf handicaps of both candidates, which are publicly available.

Senior Tour option for pair?

Interestingly, both Biden and Trump appear to be quite respectable golfers. Trump boasts a 2.5 handicap, indicating that on an average round, he shoots about 2-3 strokes over par, typically scoring around 74 or 75. On the other hand, Biden’s above-average rounds hover around a 78 or 79. Though we wonder which tees they play off or is that score for 9 or 18 holes!
