Qatar’s Taylor and Flanagan seal spots in Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge Grand Final

The Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge’s 8th and 9th qualifiers, held at the Doha Golf Club in Qatar on September 16, 2016, saw Mike Taylor and Neil Flanagan of Team UTB take the honour of winning the day’s qualifiers, with their prize including spots in the Challenge’s final to be held later this year in Ajman, UAE.

Taylor and Flanagan took first place with 42 points on a countback, followed by Mathieas Freij and Emad Al Emadi with 42 points, also on a countback, in second place. Third place went to Ben Sargent and Robbie Kirkwood, with 40 points.

On-course Nearest to the Pin competitions were won by Theo Scheepers (3rd hole – sponsored by Chrysler); Frans Smit (8th hole – sponsored by Devere Acuma); Ruan Jordaan (13th hole – sponsored by Select Property).

The King of the Course Par 3s title was earned by Eugene Bautista and Rolando Valencia with 18 points; Par 4s was won by Andrew Muirhead and Somposch Sang Orn (37 points), and Par 5s was taken by Bruce Chalmers and Grahame McCaig (19 points). King of the Course winners are teams that perform best on Pars 3, 4s, and 5s, with prize rewards as well as entry into the ‘Golden Ticket’ draw that offers a wildcard entry into the 2016 Grand Final.

This years’ Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge is supported by the Emirate of Ajman, as 2016 host city, and destination partners include the Ajman Palace, Ajman Kempinski, and Ajman Saray. Fairmont Ajman hotels and Ajman’s Al Zorah Golf Club are venue sponsor for the 2016 Grand Final. Other sponsors of the tournament include deVere Acuma, Chrysler, and Select Property.
