Nacho Elvira produced a nerveless display on a dramatic final day to claim his third DP World Tour title at the 2026 Dubai Invitational, edging a chaotic leaderboard battle at Dubai Creek Resort.
Five players shared the lead at various points on a roller-coaster Sunday, with overnight leader Elvira stretching three clear after birdies at the fourth and seventh to reach 11 under par. But successive bogeys at the eighth and ninth opened the door as Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Daniel Hillier and Marcus Armitage all joined him at the summit.
Lowry briefly moved ahead with a long birdie putt at the 15th, while Hillier set the clubhouse target of nine under after a flawless 65. McIlroy surged into contention with five straight birdies from the ninth, but Elvira reclaimed control when he rolled in a seven-foot birdie at the 17th to move one clear.

Five-way thriller settled in dramatic finale
Moments later, Lowry’s bunker shot flew the final green and found the water, leading to a costly double bogey. That left Elvira needing only a par at the 72nd hole, and the Spaniard showed nerves of steel to hole out from one foot for victory at ten under.
“It means the world,” said the 38-year-old. “If you told me on Tuesday that I’d be winning this tournament, I’d never have believed you. It’s a dream come true, especially having the family here. I wasn’t nervous until the very last putt.”
Frenchman Julien Guerrier finished third at eight under alongside Spain’s David Puig, McIlroy and Lowry. Armitage double-bogeyed the last to join Matt Wallace and Thorbjørn Olesen at six under, with Antoine Rozner, Thriston Lawrence and Dylan Frittelli completing the top ten.
Elvira was presented with the trophy by tournament host Abdullah Al Naboodah, Chairman of Al Naboodah Investments. “Congratulations to Nacho Elvira on an outstanding performance and well-earned victory,” said Al Naboodah. “The calibre of golf from both our professionals and amateurs has been remarkable. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2028.”
