One week untilt the Hero Dubai Desert Classic – all you need to know!

The countdown is on as the Hero Dubai Desert Classic returns to Emirates Golf Club from Thursday January 22 to Sunday January 25, bringing four days of world-class sport, family entertainment and festival energy to Dubai’s winter calendar.

Now in its 37th edition, the Middle East’s oldest professional golf tournament continues to evolve beyond the fairways. For 2026, fans can expect expanded family zones, new live entertainment, the debut of Eat Street as a dedicated foodie hub and a stronger focus on wellness and sustainability—firmly positioning the event as much more than a golf tournament.

World-class golf, as always

The action on the Majlis Course remains the headline act. Rory McIlroy returns in pursuit of a record fifth Dallah Trophy, marking 20 years since his debut at the event as a 16-year-old. He is joined by defending champion Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Viktor Hovland, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed and current Race to Dubai leader Jayden Schaper. UAE golfer Ahmed Skaik also tees it up, underlining the tournament’s commitment to regional talent.

General Admission is free on Thursday and Friday, while weekend tickets start from AED 100 in advance. Children under 17 enter free across all four days when registered and accompanied by an adult.

Where to watch & social viewing

Classic viewing spots return, including the 1st Tee and 15th Green grandstands. New for 2026, the 18th Green public viewing deck features an integrated bar for a lively Championship Sunday atmosphere, while the Public Bar & Viewing Deck offers panoramic views across multiple tees. Eat Street also introduces additional public bar spaces, including a rooftop terrace at the Driving Range.

Tournament Town, food & family fun

Tournament Town is bigger than ever, with an expanded Kids Zone packed with creative workshops, soft play, VR experiences and roaming performers. Family Friday’s FamilyBeatz returns, transforming the venue into a family-friendly rave, before live bands and DJs take over each evening.

Food lovers will flock to Eat Street, home to 12 food trucks and a giant screen showing live golf, alongside premium hospitality options including The Social on Sixteen, the Dallah Lounge and Emirates Golf Club’s Clubhouse.

With sustainability initiatives, wellness activations and seamless access via Dubai Metro, the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2026 promises a festival-style sporting week designed to be enjoyed by everyone—on and off the course.
