Former Open Champions Shane Lowry and Francesco Molinari will bring Major Championship class to the Dubai Invitational, with both confirmed for the 2026 edition at Dubai Creek Resort from January 15–18.
They join an elite field already featuring defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, five-time Major winner Rory McIlroy, and DP World Tour winners Ryan Fox and Rasmus Neergaard-Peterson, as the opening event of the Race to Dubai International Swing takes centre stage in the UAE.
Lowry Brings Ryder Cup Momentum to Dubai
Lowry arrives on the back of another standout season, highlighted by a defining Ryder Cup moment when his clutch putt on the final green at Bethpage Black secured the half-point that retained the trophy for Europe. The 38-year-old Irishman is chasing a seventh DP World Tour title and will look to build on an excellent UAE record, which includes victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2019—just months before lifting The Open at Royal Portrush.
“The UAE has always been a special place for me,” said Lowry. “After the year we’ve had, I’m excited to get 2026 started in Dubai.”

Molinari Returns After Strong Debut Showing
Molinari returns to Dubai Creek Resort after finishing fifth at the tournament’s inaugural edition. The Italian boasts nine professional victories across the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, headlined by his Open Championship triumph in 2018. A Ryder Cup legend, he recorded a perfect 5–0 record in Europe’s famous Paris victory and has since served as Vice Captain, while also captaining Continental Europe at the Team Cup at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
The bi-annual Dubai Invitational features 60 professionals and 60 amateurs alongside a three-day Pro-Am, with Sunday reserved for professionals only. General admission is free, with premium hospitality options available for fans seeking an enhanced experience.
