Who would have thought practicing in your garden could be so fun

If you’re having withdrawal symptoms from swinging the club and listening to that pleasurable sound at impact, we may have found some alternatives you can carry out in your back garden using minimal supplies varying from different levels of golfers.

Harry Konig, who made his European Tour debut this year in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, has manufactured a golf net in his garden which looks to be strictly for professional use only. With approximately one metre width to cushion the ball, hitting the driver at over 170mph ball speed you wouldn’t want to miss it, check this out:

Challenge Tour Professional Marco Penge has come up with a simple way to practice in your back garden. Using a fence panel and some old rugs hanging over, this is effective and gets you swinging the club in your home comforts:

If you haven’t got a fence handy you could take DIY tips from George Bloor, who has recently won back to back events on the Portugal Pro Tour. First you need to build a wooden frame, followed by some old curtains and rug, then your home net is ready for action:

Inspired by Harry Konig’s efforts, Brad Thomson on Twitter has come up with ‘the washing line” net. All you need is a washing line and some bed sheets and something to hold the sheets to the ground and your good to go:

We’ve seen how to do the washing line drill properly, but for a bit of fun, here’s how NOT to do it:

Tip of the day: If your using the washing line net to carry out a practice session, don’t use a commercial brick to hold it to the ground.

If you have any creative DIY home practice facilities, we would love to see them. Tag us in your videos on Instagram @worldwide.golf
