European Tour destination: Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort

The picturesque Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort is located in the heart of Pays de Fayence, in the commune of Tourrettes, in the South of France. Just 35 minutes from the famous coastline of the Côte d’Azur, this 5* ‘Leading Hotel of the World’ is the perfect base for exploring Provence.

Terre Blanche is one of the world’s most prestigious destinations for golf lovers with two stunning Championship golf courses set amid the beautiful hills of the Côte d’Azur.

Architect Dave Thomas skillfully capitalised on the existing contours and natural features of the magnificent site and his trademark bunkers feature on both courses: Le Château and Le Riou. This true golfers’ paradise is set in stunning surroundings and brings together performance and love for the game.

The demanding Le Château is a 7,235 yard 18-hole course, offers an exciting challenge for ambitious golfers. The bunkers, greens, and flag positions give a true taste of the game at a high level as it rewards precision and length both off the tee and on approach. Le Riou is a shorter and more technical layout that enjoys many elevation changes and spectacular views across to the picturesque hilltop villages of Pays de Fayence. Measuring only 6,567 yards it has less emphasis on length and is exclusively reserved for Club Members and Hotel Residents.

The European Tour Performance Institute, the only one of its kind in Europe, comprises a two-storey driving range, a Golf Academy and the Biomecaswing golf biomechanics centre. The centre is perfectly suited to players of all levels; beginners can learn to play golf here whilst more experienced players can optimise their swing. Open seven days a week, the driving range has 64 bays. Half are undercover and floodlit on the ground floor and the other half are outside on the 1st floor while a grass driving range area is open from May to October. Two outdoor putting greens, an indoor putting green, two approach greens and bunkers complete the list of short game facilities available.

The European Tour Performance Institute is home to one of the world’s most famous training academies, which is open throughout the year and offers a wide range  of courses relating to all aspects of the game. The coaching programme is designed to respond the needs of players of all ages and levels: beginners, experienced amateurs and touring professionals.

The Institute is headed by Jean-Jacques Rivet, an osteopath and accomplished athlete, and it combines the use of biomechanics and modern technology. This concept involves undertaking an analysis of your body shape, posture, mobility and the intensity of each movement to build a full understanding of your swing so that you can refine and optimise your game.

Away from golf, The Terre Blanche Spa nestles in the heart of a typical Provençal garden. Its soothing and intimate environment extends over 3,200m² and offers all the tranquillity needed to relax and unwind. This peaceful haven provides  high-quality facilities, from saunas, steam rooms and relaxation rooms to laconium and the magnificent indoor lap pool and outdoor vitality pool. The facility also features five restaurants including Le Faventia, 1* Michelin Restaurant, which offers a panoramic view over the hills of Pays de Fayence.
