Tiger Woods to take on LIV Golf with world’s top players

Tiger woods is reportedly heading to the BMW Championship this week to meet with a plethora of the world’s best players to address LIV Golf and how they can help in the fight back agains the rival league .

According to reports by Alan Shipnuck and ESPN, Woods is flying into Wilmington Country Club today to meet the top-20 ranked players in the world with Shipnuck stating the meeting is set to be a ‘banger.’

‘Supposedly everything is on the table, from major championship boycotts to (Jay) Monahan’s future to a larger compromise,’ Shipnuck said via Twitter, Monday night.

A member invited to the meeting told ESPN: ‘It’s a meeting to get the top 20 players in the world on the same page on how we can continue to make the PGA Tour the best product in professional golf.’

There is also a PGA Tour Players Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday. Woods’ meeting, according to ESPN, will take place after that. PGA Tour Jay Monahan has a meeting with Tour players Wednesday.

Woods, who was reportedly offered up to $800 million to join LIV Golf, has been an outspoken critic of the breakaway league in the past.

“Greg has done some things that I don’t think (are) in the best interest of our game,” Woods said prior to the Open Championship, where he was last seen in action.

“I know what the PGA Tour stands for and what we have done and what the Tour has given us, the ability to chase after our careers and to earn what we get and the trophies we have been able to play for and the history that has been a part of this game.

“I know Greg tried to do this back in the early ’90s. It didn’t work then, and he’s trying to make it work now. I still don’t see how that’s in the best interests of the game.”
