Tenzin Tsarong and Faiz Riaz’s formidable partnership has earned them a spot in the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge’s Grand Final after an impressive qualifying round at Almouj Golf Club, Muscat, Oman, on Friday, April 22.
Team Tenzin/Riaz, scored 41 points to be declared the champions. Meanwhile, William Welsh and Danny Renihan, (Team Toon Army) secured second place with 38, and Team Birdie – Barath Gopal and Srinivas Hebbar took third place with 37 after countback.
On-course competitions included deVere Acuma’s Nearest the Pin on Hole 2 which was won by Muthu Samy, Select Property’s Hole 4 Nearest the Pin by Tenzin Tsarong and Chrysler’s Hole 14 Nearest the Pin, won by Andrew Long. Ajman Tourism’s Hole in One prize remains unclaimed.
XCGC’s new on-course competition – ‘King of Pars’ – sponsored by deVere Acuma recognises and rewards teams that perform best on Par 3’s, Par 4’s and Par 5’s. The teams that score the best on the various hole types win a prize as well as enter the ‘Golden Ticket’ draw, which will see the lucky entrant win a place in the 2016 Grand Final. Winners of the third qualifier’s King of Pars are;
- King of the Par 3s: Bret Archer and Tony Leith-Hedlay
- King of the Par 4s: Sanjay Gupta and Paresh Sahai
- King of the Par 5s: Barath Gopal and Srinivas Hebbar
