The 2026 Hero Dubai Desert Classic is shaping up to be one of the most spectacular editions yet, with tournament organizers announcing a world-class lineup for the prestigious Rolex Series event at Emirates Golf Club from January 22-25.
Five Global Stars Join Elite Field
Five major additions have bolstered an already impressive field, with Ryan Fox, Pádraig Harrington, Nicolai Højgaard, Tom McKibbin and Joaquín Niemann joining the competition ARN News Centre. These stars will compete alongside defending champion Tyrrell Hatton, four-time tournament winner and reigning Masters Champion Rory McIlroy, FedExCup Champion Tommy Fleetwood, and former World Number One Dustin Johnson.
New Zealand’s Fox enters the tournament following a breakthrough 2025 season that saw him claim two PGA Tour victories. The 38-year-old, who previously won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in 2023, will make his 10th appearance on the legendary Majlis Course, eager to kick-start 2026 in style.

Golfing Legends Return to Dubai
Irish golfing legend Harrington brings exceptional pedigree to the competition. The World Golf Hall of Fame inductee made history by becoming the first European since 1930 to win consecutive Major championships, capturing back-to-back Open Championships in 2007 and 2008, followed by the PGA Championship. Despite being 54, Harrington remains competitive at the highest level, having won two senior Major championships in 2025.
Denmark’s Højgaard arrives in Dubai with strong memories of the Emirates, having previously won the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in 2023. The 2023 Ryder Cup star also secured victory at the 2022 Ras Al Khaimah Championship, demonstrating his affinity for UAE courses.
Northern Ireland’s McKibbin, who hails from the same hometown as McIlroy, impressed with a tied-sixth finish at the 2025 edition and will be looking to build on that performance as a Dubai resident. Meanwhile, Chile’s Niemann returns after a promising debut in 2024 that saw him finish in a tie for fourth place.
