Relocating Genesis Invitational Due to Wildfires?

Genesis Invitational Wildfires: The PGA Tour is evaluating the potential relocation of the Genesis Invitational as wildfires devastate areas across Los Angeles, particularly near the Pacific Palisades. The prestigious event, hosted by Tiger Woods, is scheduled for February 13-16 at the Riviera Country Club. While the course remains untouched, surrounding areas face significant challenges as the fires continue to spread.

Community Safety & Well-being

“Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of the local community, players, and fans,” said a PGA Tour spokesperson. “We are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to make necessary adjustments to ensure everyone’s safety.”

Tiger Woods Support & Concern

Tiger Woods, the tournament’s host, also expressed concern, saying, “The wildfires have affected so many lives, and our hearts go out to everyone impacted. While we hope to keep the event at Riviera, the safety of everyone involved is paramount.”

Donations

For those looking to support wildfire relief efforts, consider donating to organizations like the American Red Cross, California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund, or Direct Relief, which provide critical aid to affected communities.
