“It’s a dream start to the season,” said Meronk after sealing the win. “To go wire-to-wire against a field this strong is really special. I felt comfortable from the very first tee shot and just tried to stay aggressive.”

He followed it up with a composed second-round 67 to maintain a two-shot cushion heading into the final day, with Rahm and Sebastián Muñoz leading the charge behind him.
