Rory McIlroy, fresh off completing the career grand slam and a fifth Major title at the Masters, will head back to Yas Links for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship from November 6-9. The Northern Irishman leads the Race to Dubai and has already secured his spot in the first of the DP World Tour Play-Offs thanks to his Green Jacket heroics and a strong showing at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, staged by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the DP World Tour, kicks off the season’s end-of-year crescendo as part of the Rolex Series. Only the top 70 available players will tee it up in Abu Dhabi, with the top 50 moving on to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai the following week.
Four in a row for Rory
McIlroy’s triumph at Augusta, adding to his 2011 U.S. Open, 2012 and 2014 PGA Championships, and 2014 Open Championship, made him the first European to claim the career grand slam. Now, he’ll aim to clinch a remarkable fourth consecutive Race to Dubai title when he returns to the Middle East this November.
“Ending the season in the Middle East is always a highlight for me,” McIlroy said. “I’ve had a good start to the year and some strong finishes at Yas Links, so hopefully I can keep that going and put myself in a position to lift the Race to Dubai again.”
England’s Paul Waring captured his first Rolex Series title here last season, and fans are set for another thrilling edition in 2025. General admission is free for the opening two days, with final round tickets starting from just AED 50 – a 50% early bird discount currently available.
