Move over, big names—there’s a new face lighting up the DP World Tour. Martin Couvra, the 22-year-old from Cannes, announced himself in style with a stunning victory at the Turkish Airlines Open, grabbing his first DP World Tour win with a final-round 64 that oozed class.
Playing at the Regnum Carya Golf Resort, Couvra started the day four shots off the lead but came out firing. Four birdies in his first six holes set the tone. A couple of mid-round bogeys could have derailed him, but he bounced back in style—birdieing 11, 12, and 13 before adding a crucial one at the par-five 15th to pull clear. A composed finish sealed a two-shot win at 17-under-par, edging out Haotong Li and Jorge Campillo.
A Star Is Born
Couvra’s rise has been anything but ordinary. He turned pro at the end of 2023 after making history in South Africa by becoming the first player to win the South African Stroke Play, Proudfoot Trophy, and Amateur Championship in the same year. Oh, and not forgetting his victory on the HotelPlanner Tour as an amateur—one of only a handful to ever do so.
“It was amazing to win on my first year on the DP World Tour – it’s just a dream,” he said afterwards. “I wake up in the morning to win some tournaments, and to win early is fantastic, so really happy about that.” Golf Today

He’s calm under pressure, a serious pedigree from the amateur ranks, and a swing built for the big stage, Martin Couvra is a name you’ll want to remember. The French golf revival might just have found its leading man.
