Kim to produce sample after 359 yard ‘bomb’ in Texas

After bombing a drive 359 yards PGA Tour pro Michael Kim jokingly questioned the timing of a random drug test at the Texas Children’s Houston Open last week.

Thankfully Kim found the funny side of things and took to X on Thursday to inform his followers he had been notified to provide a sample.

He wrote: “I hit a couple of long one’s last week and guess what’s waiting for me? Drug testing.”

Though his yardage increase was impressive Kim finished in a tie for 64th and 13 shots back from the tournament winner Stephen Jaeger.

Off the tee, Kim averaged a total driving distance of 312.2 yards for the event compared to his season average of 298.8 yards. When he first joined the Tour in 2016, he averaged 289.6 yards.

His longest drive was 359 yards at Memorial Park Golf Course.

His followers on X saw the funny side of Kim’s drug test.

“Sure that wasn’t mean for Anthony Kim?” one X user joked in reference to the LIV Golfplayer.

Another added: “Shouldn’t hit those massive bombs.”
