Iturrios hangs tough for Dubai Moonlight Classic victory

Nuria Iturrios won back-to-back titles on the Ladies European Tour with a one-stroke win over German pair Olivia Cowan and Ester Henseleit at the inaugural Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic.

The Spaniard, who won last week’s Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco, carded a final round 1-under-par 71 on the Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club to win with a 10-under-par 206 total ahead of Cowan (71) and Henseleit (72).

Karolin Lampert, also of Germany, finished in fourth place with Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall and day one leader Leona Maguire of Ireland in fifth place on 7-under-par.

Bouncing Back

Scotland’s Carly Booth bounced back from a second round 75 with a 67 to finish in seventh place while Gabriella Cowley, Sarah Kemp, Marianne Skarpnord and Noora Komulainen rounded out the top ten.

Ace Day for Woods

Earlier in the final round American Cheyenne Woods enjoyed a hole-in-one on the par-3 second hole, finding the cup from 169 yards with a single blow of a 6-iron.
