Hatton Returns to Defend Hero Dubai Desert Classic Title

Defending champion and European Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton will return to Emirates Golf Club from January 22–25, 2026, as he looks to defend his crown at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic – the first Rolex Series event of the 2026 Race to Dubai.

The Englishman will make his 11th appearance at the tournament, joining reigning Masters Champion and career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy in what is already shaping up to be a stellar field for the 37th edition of the Middle East’s longest-running professional golf event.

Ryder Cup Glory

Hatton was one of Europe’s heroes at Bethpage Black, securing the crucial half point that clinched the 15–13 Ryder Cup victory and ended a 13-year wait for an away win. His triumph in Dubai earlier this year proved to be the catalyst for a standout season that included a T4 finish at the U.S. Open and top-20s at both The Masters and The Open, earning him a fourth Ryder Cup call-up.

At the 2025 Classic, Hatton produced four rounds in the 60s to claim the iconic Dallah Trophy by a single stroke, securing the second Rolex Series title of his career.

“I’m delighted to be heading back to Emirates Golf Club to defend my title,” said Hatton. “It’s a golf course that really suits my game, and the week back in January was incredibly special. It’s always great to return somewhere you’ve won before, and I can’t wait to have another chance to contend for the title.”

More Than Just Golf

Away from the fairways, the Hero Dubai Desert Classic continues to deliver one of the region’s most vibrant sporting experiences. Tournament Town will once again be packed with live music, family activities, street food, arts and crafts, and interactive golf challenges for all ages – making it the perfect day out for families and fans alike.

Early bird tickets are selling fast, with free entry on Thursday and Friday and weekend access available from just AED 75 (AED 100 pre-event, AED 125 on the day). Children aged 17 and under go free throughout.

For those seeking a more exclusive experience, The Dallah Lounge (from AED 1,890) and The Social on Sixteen (from AED 625) return with upgraded hospitality options offering gourmet dining, premium beverages, and unbeatable views of the action.
