Ahead of the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, Nick Bachem and Todd Clements took on the Jais Flight, the world’s longest zipline at Jebel Jais, in front of a stunning backdrop.
Both players, in their rookie DP World Tour seasons, relished the opportunity to unwind away from the golf course and experience some of the activities on offer at the Jebel Jais adventure park. Top of the list was the hair-raising Jais Flight – flying through mountain peaks and deep ravines at speeds of up to 160 kmph for 3km.
“It was incredible, in terms of the adrenaline and the pure joy…I loved it,” said Clements, who finished in 16th place on the 2022 Road to Mallorca rankings to graduate from the Challenge Tour and earn his DP World Tour card for this season.
“I’d recommend anyone to come up here if they are in the area, it wasn’t anything I was expecting and it far exceeded expectations.”
After completing the zipline, the duo took on one of Jebel Jais’ newest attractions – the Jais Sledder.
The alpine coaster, which opened in February 2022, is the region’s longest toboggan ride at 1,840 metres and can reach speeds of up to 40km/h as it winds down through the Hajar mountain range, offering riders panoramic views as they go.
“I feel when you travel the around the globe it’s such a great chance to see so many different places of the world,” said Bachem, who finished sixth at the Final Stage of Qualifying School to become one of 28 players to earn their DP World Tour cards for the 2023 season.
“If you’re just always on the golf course, sometimes your happiness depends on the golf course, this should never be the case and I’m trying to enjoy my time as much as possible – pretty hard not to enjoy life being here, standing here and doing fun stuff such as this.
“I’m going to remember this experience here for the rest of the season, it’s pretty hard to beat.”
Fans are invited to register for free tickets to the tournament here with ticketholders receiving 25% off both the Jais Sledder and Jais Flight by visiting the Jebel Jais Adventure Park tent in the Tournament Village during the Ras Al Khaimah Championship.
