Former Omega Dubai Desert Classic winner Bryson DeChambeau produced a wonderful final round display over the notoriously difficult West Course at Winged Foot to get his hands on the US Open trophy.
The 27-year-old romped to a six stroke victory over Matthew Wolff and was the only player to break par in the year’s second Major Championship. The American’s unique approach to the game has divided opinion since he turned professional in 2016 as he tinkered with oversized grips, cut all his clubs to the same length and most recently piled on 40lbs which saw him lead the average driver stats on the PGA Tour last season. But it was composure and calmness that secured ‘The Scientist’ his Major breakthrough as he executed his game plan to perfection.
