Callum Farr made a statement to start the 2025 Clutch Pro Tour season, claiming victory at the season-opening event held at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates. Farr posted a composed 12-under-par total over 54 holes to top a strong field of 154 professionals and elite amateurs, securing the win and a share of the £50,000 prize fund.
Sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF), the Al Ain championship was the first of three Clutch Tour events scheduled in the UAE this year, as part of a strengthened partnership between the Tour and the EGF. With the season now officially underway, all eyes turn to the next leg in Oman before the Tour returns to the UAE in October for its finale.
A strong field of 154 players—both professionals and elite amateurs—battled it out over 54 holes, but it was England’s Callum Farr who emerged victorious, posting a composed 12-under-par total to take the title.
Great Opening Event
The season-opener comes as part of a wider agreement between the Clutch Tour and the EGF, announced earlier this year, which will see the UAE host three international events on the Clutch Tour calendar. With Al Ain setting the pace, the Tour will return to the region in October, culminating in the Clutch Tour Championship.
Widely regarded as the UK and Europe’s leading development tour, the Clutch Tour provides invaluable playing opportunities and performance incentives, including Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points. Events held in the UAE also offer direct pathways to the HotelPlanner Tour and the DP World Tour.
Farr Landed HotelPlanner Start
Farr’s triumph not only earned him the winner’s cheque but also secured him a coveted spot in next month’s HotelPlanner Tour event, also in Al Ain—co-sanctioned by the EGF and the European Tour Group.
As part of its collaboration with the Clutch Tour, the Emirates Golf Federation has been allocated 20 tournament invitations, which are being used to support the UAE National Team, the Emirates PGA, and local golf academies—helping to fast-track emerging amateur and professional talent in the region.
Commenting on the partnership, General Abdullah Al Hashmi, Vice-Chairman of the EGF, said: “We at the Emirates Golf Federation believe the Clutch Tour plays a pivotal role in elevating both professional and amateur golf in the UAE and the wider region. While other parts of the world face seasonal challenges, the UAE offers year-round, world-class conditions—making it the ideal destination to both launch and conclude the Clutch Tour season.”

He added: “What sets the Clutch Tour apart is its commitment to inclusivity, particularly through its support for female golfers at every UAE-based event—something no other professional tour in the GCC currently offers. This aligns perfectly with our vision to establish the UAE as a hub for accessible, diverse, and forward-thinking golf development.”
Clutch Tour Events In The Region
The Clutch Tour’s international swing continues on 25th March at La Vie, Oman, followed by a second event in the Sultanate at Al Mouj Golf. The UAE leg returns in October, starting at Al Zorah Golf Club (14–16 October) and concluding with the Tour Championship at Al Hamra Golf Club (21–23 October).
