The continued success of the European Tour’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary edition next week, is helped greatly by the ongoing support of its sponsors and world-renowned travel retailer Dubai Duty Free has been part of the iconic tournament since 2010.
The US$8 million tournament, which takes place at Jumeirah Golf Estates from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 November, will once again enjoy the full support of the leading retail organisation, which sponsors numerous key sporting events, including the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and earlier this year signed a four-year deal to become an Official Partner of the European Tour, entering a new era in its commitment to the Tour and the development of worldwide golf.
Dubai Duty Free will once again showcase their ever-popular Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise promotion to win a BMW 760Li xDrive (Aventurine Red).
“The season-ending DP World Tour Championship is an excellent tournament and one that we are pleased to support for the tenth year,” said Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free.
“We have expanded our support of the European Tour in recent years through the title sponsorship of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, which we have supported since 2015 and more recently in 2018, we have become a global partner of the European Tour. Through such high level sponsorship, we are committed to promoting Dubai and our brand to a global audience and we believe that golf is a key component in our busy sponsorship portfolio.”
Nick Tarratt, European Tour International Director, Dubai Office, said: “We are proud to have the support of Dubai Duty Free at our season-ending finale and were thrilled they became part of the European Tour family earlier this year after signing on as Official Partner. As well as being synonymous with Dubai they are associated with some of the biggest events in world sport and are therefore a fitting partner for the DP World Tour Championship.”
The DP World Tour Championship takes place at Jumeirah Golf Estates from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 November.
