Former US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau holds a one-shot lead over Scottie Scheffler after a rain-shortened opening day at the Masters.
DeChambeau finished the day at seven under par, while while world number one Scheffler also impressed with a bogey-free 66.
“I shot 65 today and that was one of the best rounds I’ve played in a long time,” said DeChambeau. “There’s three more days to go and I’m not losing sight of that fact.”
Englishman and 2016 champion Danny Willett made a solid return to competition from injury , finishing four under par.
Rory McIlroy carded a 71, Jon Rahm a one-over 73, and Tiger Woods, along with 26 others, had their rounds cut short due to darkness.
Woods, who was one under par when play was halted, will have a busy Friday, needing to complete 23 holes to finish both rounds one and two.
“We’re going to warm up and just kind of head down there and start our round,” said Woods of needing a long day on Friday.
“I think the flow would be pretty much almost like between 20 and 30 minutes in between rounds, so it’ll be a natural flow from the finish of the first round and continuation of the second.”
Play will resume at 07:50 local time (15:50 UAE time), with the second round teeing off at 08:00.
