Chiara Noja continued her fine form after starting with a two under par 71 in the opening round of the Trust Golf Links Series as she looks to build on her second place ranking on the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS) Order of Merit.
The 16-year-old got off to a fast start with birdies on the first 11 holes leaving her on four under par for the day, but the youngster was pegged pack with bogeys on 13 and 16 and had to settle for a share of third alongside Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen. Scotland’s Hannah McCook claimed the early lead after firing an impressive four-under 69 at Ramside Hall Golf Club.
“I have my mum on the bag this week which is really nice. The last time she caddied for me was in 2019 and she caddied a lot while I was still an amateur in 2018 when we won a couple of times together,” said McCook.
Dubai-based Noja has played six events on the Series this year, winning one and finishing in the top five a further four times to sit just behind leader Momoka Kobori in the Order of Merit as well as the Rookie of the Year rankings.
