Chiara Noja: A day of battling the elements at Centurion Club

By Chiara Noja

On a day of challenging conditions I shot a decent first round of level par 73 to be tied 13th after the first round of the $500,000 ARAMC0 Team Series at Centurion Club, St Albans, England on the Ladies’ European Tour.

I shot a level par round with nines of 39 and 34 with rain and so much more falling all day long as precipitation.

Charlie Hull (Eng) is leading the 54-hole event on five under par alongside World Number Two, on the ROLEX Ranking, Nelly Korda (USA) on the same score.

I opened up with a front nine of 37, starting on hole one, followed by a back nine holes of 34 strokes including birdies on holes 13, 14 and 18.

We very much had the worst of the day side of the draw with the weather and had to battle the rain and wind all day long.

The weather forecast over the weekend does not look great for tomorrow (Saturday) and we are hopeful of a proper conclusion of the tournament come Sunday night.

The forecast is not positive but I am hopeful after 18 holes that I am in a good position.

I shot a round that I am proud of with our tee time tomorrow (Sat) teeing off at 12.10 pm from Tee 1.
