Bernd Wiesberger returns to DP World Tour

Bernd Wiesberger will play a full DP World Tour schedule in 2024 after his request for reinstatement was granted by DP World Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley.

The Austrian defected to LIV Golf in 2022 but failed to replicate the form that saw him eight titles on the DP World Tour. After a disappointing 2023 season on the breakaway circuit, Wiesberger failed to cement a spot on next season’s roster for the Cleeks while no other team came forward to sign him to leave him in limbo.

But he has now committed to playing a full schedule on the DP World Tour after securing reinstatement despite his membership being ceased, and removed from the Race to Dubai, after he failed to comply with the Tour’s minimum counting event regulation for the 2023 season, having played in only two counting tournaments – the Abu Dhabi Championship and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

The 38-year-old fulfilled all sanctions – both financial and tournament suspensions – that were imposed upon him for breaches of the Tour’s conflicting event regulation across 2022 and 2023.

Wiesberger will be exempt in Category 11 for the 2024 season.
