Andrew Dodt quickest out of the blocks in Race to Dubai

Andrew Dodt might not be a player that you’re familiar with at the summit of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai. However the Australian has made an unbelievable start to the 2016/17 season with a runner-up finish in the Australian PGA Championship and a tied-third in the UBS Hong Kong Open a week later. This leaves him at the top of the Race to Dubai standings on 222,425 points with our columnist Rafa Cabrera Bello in second.

  • He has a Category 4 Exemption Tour Card because he won a Race to Dubai tournaments (True Thailand Classic presented by Black Mountain) with a prize fund over €5 million in 2015.
  • He has won two European Tour tournaments throughout his career.
  • The highest he has finished in his six full seasons on the European Tour is 70th back in 2010.
  • He has already earned €78,620 more this season from two events than he did in 21 tournaments last season.
