Ace surprise for Paisley’s wife…

England’s Chris Paisley finished his second round in sensational style at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters with birdies on the 16th and 18th bookending the first hole-in-one of his European Tour career on the 17th to see him sneak inside the cut mark, having been 3-over par before the late blitz.

$150,000 to spend in Qatar Duty Free

The 30 year old hit an inch perfect nine-iron from 135 yards on the Championship Course’s penultimate hole to earn a nice bonus payout of US$150,000 to spend in Qatar Duty Free. But Paisley revealed that it was unlikely to be him that enjoyed the fruits of his ace.

“I don’t think it’s going to be me that’s spending it,” smiled Paisley. “My wife’s here this week, so I think she’ll probably take care of that. It’s strange, I went 27 holes this week without making a birdie, and I go 3-over par, struggling to make the cut. And then all of a sudden made a couple of birdies and had a hole-in-one and I was inside the cut mark. I suppose it shows you, never give up.”
