Links & Kings: Funding A Golf Habit In Style

Some brands are born in boardrooms—Links & Kings was born from passion. Adam Heindorff’s journey from renewable energy entrepreneur to luxury golf goods pioneer began in a St Andrews car park. With a bold vision and a love for the game, he built one of golf’s most prestigious brands.

Originally a way to fund his golfing obsession, Links & Kings quickly evolved into a luxury leather goods powerhouse, culminating in a partnership with industry giant Acushnet. Selling his renewable energy business gave Heindorff the freedom to create something driven by love for the sport rather than just business.

The brand’s name was inspired by a visit to Valderrama, where he spotted an old book titled ‘Kings of Scotland.’ As Heindorff recalls, “I remember thinking, ‘Kings of Scotland’—that’s a strong name, but maybe too regional. Then it clicked—Links & Kings. It just felt right.” That moment sparked the idea, and within minutes, he secured the domain name LinksandKings.com. But the journey truly started when he walked into a meeting at St Andrews—without samples, only a concept and his passion. The head buyer placed an order on the spot, setting the wheels in motion for what would become a luxury golf empire.

Determined to create something exceptional, Heindorff personally sourced the finest leathers and maintained rigorous quality standards. Rather than chasing mass production, he focused on exclusivity, working with top UK golf venues and elite events like The Open. The American market soon followed, leading to the game-changing partnership with Acushnet in 2018.

David Maher, CEO of Acushnet Holdings Corp, praised the partnership: “Links & Kings has been built on a foundation of creating golf products of the absolute highest quality, a mission that aligns perfectly with our brands.”

Today, Links & Kings offers premium golf bags, headcovers, belts, and travel accessories—each crafted with uncompromising attention to detail. Heindorff proudly describes the brand as ‘unapologetically expensive,’ reflecting the quality and craftsmanship behind every piece. As he puts it, “We don’t cut corners, we cut the finest leather—and we do it by hand.”

With expansion into international markets, including the UAE, the brand’s future looks bright. What started as a passion project to fund a golfing habit has become an elite brand for those who demand the very best. With Acushnet’s backing and Heindorff’s relentless pursuit of perfection, Links & Kings is just getting started.
