Ramesh Wijeratne emerged froma congested leaderboard after anup-and-down 18 holes to win thefirst Unitechnik Stableford eventof the year. Wijeratne made a slowstart but fired three net birdies andan eagle in a five-hole stretch thatcatapulted him into contention. Hethen closed with eagle-double bogeyeagle-double bogey and found, to hissurprise, that his 38-point tally wasgood enough for a one-point win overScratch League Captain Mike Robson.
