The ‘little things’ keep Brooks Koepka on target in his quest for greatness

When it comes to making goals, Brooks Koepka makes sure the ‘little things’ are in place in order for the big achievements to continue to roll in as he makes his first start at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship since 2014.

The three-time Major winner admits he sets targets at the start of each year and this season is no different. “This year the No.1 thing is to stay healthy,” said the American, who missed last year’s Masters with a wrist injury. “Last year I wrote a bunch of different goals down and I think I did about half of them, so I’m just trying to improve on that and make sure I can knock a few more off.”

And what’s the key to achieving them? “It’s little things like going to bed at ten o’clock every night when I’m on the road, and working out five days a week, minimum, on the road. So my goals are not always set on the golf course – there are goals on the road and then the golf goals.”

“Right now I’m 100% healthy, so I’m working out as hard – if not harder – and so there’s no reason I can’t push it and try to see how far I can go and make sure I’m strong enough and fit enough to do it.”
