Two-time Major champion Jon Rahm will make his Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship debut next month. He joins a world-class field at Yas Links from 5–8 November for the opening event of the DP World Tour Play-Offs.
An Outstanding Rolex Series Record
The Spaniard arrives in the UAE capital with one of the best Rolex Series records in the game. The ten-time DP World Tour winner has five Rolex Series titles. Only his Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton can match that tally.
Much of that success has come in the UAE. Rahm won the DP World Tour Championship in 2017, 2019 and 2022, and he added two Irish Open titles in 2017 and 2019. His second victory at Jumeirah Golf Estates was historic, too. It made the former world number one the first Spaniard since Seve Ballesteros to top the Race to Dubai Rankings.
Rahm Looking Forward to First Visit to Yas Links
Rahm, who has earned 10.5 points for Europe across the last four Ryder Cups, is excited about his first start in the capital.
“I’ve had some of the best weeks of my career in the UAE, so I’m really looking forward to playing in Abu Dhabi for the first time,” he said.
“I’ve heard great things about Yas Links, and I’m looking forward to playing there. It’ll be great to get started in Abu Dhabi before heading to Dubai the following week.”
A Star-Studded Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship Field
Rahm is part of a strong line-up. Defending champion and US PGA Champion Aaron Rai will return to Yas Links. Six-time Major champion Rory McIlroy will also compete as he chases a record-equalling eighth Race to Dubai title.
How the DP World Tour Play-Offs Work
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the DP World Tour stage the tournament. The leading 70 available players on the Race to Dubai Rankings will tee it up at Yas Links. After that, the top 50 will qualify for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai the following week.
