MENA Golf Tour to tee off 2026/2027 season in Cairo

The MENA Golf Tour will start its 2026/2027 season in Cairo, Egypt, with three tournaments between 28 November and 10 December. The opening swing takes place at Madinaty Golf Club and New Giza Golf Club. Players can join the Tour from 22 October by applying at menagolftour.com.

Both venues are familiar to the field. Last season, Juan Salama won at Madinaty, while Lauri Ruuska claimed victory at New Giza.

MENA Golf Tour 2026/27 opening schedule

Dates Tournament Venue
28–30 November Cairo Open Madinaty Golf Club, Cairo
3–5 December New Giza Classic New Giza Golf Club, Cairo
8–10 December Egyptian Open Madinaty Golf Club, Cairo

Prize money and world ranking points

The new season will feature at least 12 tournaments. Each event carries a prize fund of at least $100,000, with $18,000 going to the winner.

In addition, every player who makes the cut to the top 60 and ties after 36 holes will earn prize money and Official World Golf Ranking points. The Tour will soon announce further events, including tournaments in Morocco and the UAE.

A clear pathway to the HotelPlanner Tour and DP World Tour

Membership of the MENA Golf Tour also offers a direct route to the next level. Members receive exemptions into HotelPlanner Tour and DP World Tour Qualifying School. They will also receive invitations to HotelPlanner Tour events throughout the season.

That pathway is already delivering results. Greg Dalziel won the Scottish Qualifying School at Dalmahoy with an 11-under-par two-round total. Moreover, all 10 players who earned their Tour card finished under par in challenging conditions.

In the same week, Michael Stewart finished tied fourth alongside Tommy Fleetwood at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Stewart finished 20th in the MENA Golf Tour Rankings last season.

Commissioner Keith Waters on the new season

Keith Waters, Commissioner and Chairman of the MENA Golf Tour, explained the decision to open in Egypt:

“We’ve chosen to begin in Cairo, on courses our players already know, to keep logistics and costs down. Judging by the response from our existing members, 2026/2027 will be our strongest season yet.”

He also praised the standard of play at Qualifying School:

“The response and entries to our Qualifying Schools have been fantastic. Greg’s score, and every card-winner breaking par in tough conditions at Dalmahoy, shows the level of golf coming through our ranks. We saw last season what a talent Michael Stewart is, and to record that result at the Home of Golf is a credit to the hard work he’s put in.”

Finally, Waters pointed to the Tour’s track record of developing top players:

“It’s great to see players develop through the MENA Golf Tour in the same way as Matthew Fitzpatrick and Robert MacIntyre did. Young professionals need international experience in a highly competitive arena, and that is why it comes as no surprise to see our players stand out on golf’s biggest stages.”
