Patrick Reed will tee it up at the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 12-15, with the American aiming to complete a season-long stay at the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World by lifting the Harry Vardon Trophy.
The 36-year-old has led the Rankings since February, more than seven months, after a sensational start to 2026. He opened his year with a commanding four-shot win at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, a Rolex Series event, for his fourth DP World Tour title. Just two weeks later, the 2018 Masters champion made it five with a two-stroke victory at the Qatar Masters.
Now ranked 29th in the world, Reed could become only the second American to be crowned European Number One. The first was Collin Morikawa, who took the title in 2021 and became the first American to win the DP World Tour Championship in the same week.
Next month’s event will be Reed’s eighth appearance on the Earth course.
“Dubai is where the season really got going for me, so it would be pretty cool to finish it there with the Harry Vardon Trophy,” said Reed. “I’ve played the DP World Tour Championship a bunch of times over the years, so I know the golf course pretty well and what it takes to get it done there. There are some really good players behind me, and that’s what makes the DP World Tour so competitive. You know you’re going to have to play well right to the end.”
REMEMBER ‘TEE GATE” BEWTEEN REED AND MCILROY?

A strong chasing pack
Reed’s closest challenger is Rory McIlroy, a three-time winner of the DP World Tour Championship. McIlroy successfully defended his Masters title in April and is now chasing an eighth Race to Dubai title, which would match Colin Montgomerie’s record. 2026 US PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai and Open Champion Ryan Fox make up the rest of the top five. The title race is set to go down to the wire in Dubai.
