The DP World Tour has announced Aldar as the new Title Partner of the Abu Dhabi Championship. The event will now be known as the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, and it opens the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs.
Aldar is an Abu Dhabi-based real estate development, investment and asset management company. The deal extends an existing relationship, as Aldar became an Official Marketing Partner and Official Real Estate Partner of the DP World Tour in 2025.
A Familiar Home at Yas Links
Aldar already has strong ties to the tournament. The company owns Yas Links, the links course on Yas Island that has hosted the event since 2022.
The 2026 Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship will run from 5–8 November at Yas Links. It is staged by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the DP World Tour.
The leading 70 available players on the Race to Dubai Rankings will compete. The top 50 will then qualify for the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai the following week.
England’s Aaron Rai won the 2025 edition. He went on to claim his first Major at the US PGA Championship earlier this year.
Who Are Aldar?
Aldar is the developer behind some of Abu Dhabi’s best-known destinations, including Yas Island and Saadiyat Island. It has delivered more than 35,000 homes since its founding. The company is also growing its residential footprint in Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Egypt and the UK.
In addition, Aldar owns and manages recurring income assets worth more than USD 15 billion. These include hotels, golf courses, shopping malls, offices, schools and warehousing.

Rory McIlroy Confirmed for the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship
In a further boost for the tournament, Rory McIlroy has confirmed he will return. The six-time Major Champion is the current Masters Champion and reigning Race to Dubai Champion.
“The Abu Dhabi Championship is always one of the tournaments I look forward to, and it’s great to see Aldar come on board as the new title partner,” said McIlroy.
However, the Northern Irishman still has unfinished business at Yas Links. “I’ve finished runner-up here four times, so I’d obviously love to go one better and finally win it,” he said.
Guy Kinnings, Chief Executive Officer of the DP World Tour, called the partnership “a landmark moment” for the event. He also highlighted McIlroy’s pursuit of history: “His chase for a record-equalling eighth Race to Dubai title will add further drama to this year’s Play-Offs.”

- General admission: Free for the first two days. Tickets for the final two days start at AED 75.
- Bar on Nine (Ticket+): A limited number of promotional tickets are available from AED 170, including an AED 100 food and drink voucher.
- Championship Chalet on the 18th: The premium option offers five-star hospitality in an air-conditioned chalet beside the 18th green, with panoramic views of the final hole. Prices start from AED 1,680.
