UAE Challenge Tees Up the Future of Emirati Golf

As the HotelPlanner Tour swings into Ajman for this week’s UAE Challenge (April 10–13), the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) is using the event to double down on its mission to develop local talent and build clear pathways to the professional game.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club, the tournament offers a rare opportunity for Emirati and UAE-based players to compete alongside top international prospects. Among those flying the flag for the UAE are Ahmad Skaik, Sam Mullane, Jonathan Selvaraj, and Rayan Ahmed—fresh off a record-breaking win at the GCC Golf Championship.

“This isn’t just a tournament—it’s a platform for our players to take the next step,” said General Abdullah Alhashmi, EGF Vice Chairman. “We’re creating real opportunities and investing in the future of golf in the UAE.”

Standout Performers

The EGF has also awarded tournament spots to standout performers from the recent Cedars Championship, including Mikhail Pinto and Dan Bryne. Club professionals and amateurs from across the region, as well as players from the Arab Golf Federation and Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, further highlight the event’s international depth.

Next week, the spotlight shifts to Al Ain for the Abu Dhabi Challenge (April 17–20), as part of a two-event swing that underscores the UAE’s growing role in shaping the future of the game.

Both tournaments are free to attend, offering fans a chance to witness the next generation of golf stars up close.
