UAE National Team star Ahmad Skaik is set to return to the HotelPlanner Tour next month, as he continues his push toward turning professional by the end of 2025.
The 27-year-old will tee it up in back-to-back Challenge Tour events in the UAE — the UAE Challenge at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club (April 10–13) and the Abu Dhabi Challenge at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club (April 17–20).
Both events are co-promoted by the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) and form a key part of the DP World Tour’s official feeder circuit.
Valuable Experience
“These events have been hugely valuable,” said Skaik. “Every time I compete, I grow — on and off the course. The players are sharper and more consistent, and I feel like I’m getting closer to that level.”
Skaik has played in 12 HotelPlanner Tour events over the past two years, gaining vital experience through the EGF’s partnership with the European Tour group, which secures 60 tournament spots for UAE players each year. He’s also benefited from competing internationally through federation exchange programmes.
Building Momentum
His momentum is building. Last month, Skaik made history at the 2025 GCC Golf Championship, winning both individual and team gold for the UAE with a record-breaking 18-under-par total — the lowest in tournament history.
With the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship on home soil later this year, Skaik is eyeing a potential move to the professional ranks soon after.
“When I’m playing well, I want more starts. I love the challenge,” he said. “If I keep working, I believe I can win on the HotelPlanner Tour — and one day on the DP World Tour.”
