The UAE Men’s Golf Team claimed their first-ever Gold Medal at the 2025 GCC Golf Championship, held at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Captain Ahmad Skaik led the charge, winning the Men’s Individual Gold with a record-breaking total of 18 under par (270), securing victory by 15 shots. Qatar’s Daniil Sokolov took Silver (285), while UAE’s Jonathan Selvaraj claimed Bronze (292).
The UAE team, featuring Skaik, Selvaraj, Sam Mullane, and Rayan Ahmed, dominated the event, finishing 38 shots ahead of Qatar (Silver, 882) and Bahrain (Bronze, 887).
In the Under-18 division, UAE secured Bronze, with Oman taking Gold and Kuwait Silver. UAE’s Mohammed Thabet won Bronze in the individual category with rounds of 88, 76, and 74.
General Abdullah AlHashmi, Vice-Chairman of the Emirates Golf Federation, hailed the victory as a defining moment for UAE golf. “This historic win reflects years of hard work and strategic development. Our ambitions remain high, and we look forward to further success on the Arab and international stages.”
